06 December 2015 | Singapore, Pulau Saigon

Update: after breakfast we went to the botanic garden of Singapore. This garden is located in the middle of the city center and contains all sorts of plants, trees, animals and picnic spaces with benches and swings. The garden is divided into different departments and every departments contains a certain collection of species for instance a collection of cactuses or a collection of orchids. I especially liked the tropical rain forest section which consists of a wooden path through a heavily grown forest consisting of a wide range of species of trees and plants. It was really nice that even the atmosphere in the forest changed as it became more humid
As we walked from the botanic gardens to orchard road the warm rain started to fall down in buckets, so we decided to shelter at a big Indian food truck and eat a curry.
Later in the afternoon after we had had some rest at the hotel we went to the cinema to watch the hunger games part II (with Chinese subtitles!). Besides the fact that the movies is great it was very nice to experience the differences with the Dutch cinema's. Here, in Singapore (almost) nobody talks with each other and if they do they whisper very quietly and there isn't a break in the movie. In addition you are led outside of the cinema directly after the movie via a special backdoor hall way.
For dinner we decided to go to Little India. This area was so different from the rest of the city and it was very very busy with Indians all over the place. We as Europeans were the only non-Indians and it was really overwhelming to walk the crowded pavements especially when we arrived in a food-court. This place was bursting at its seams and was really overloaded with people who were all watching every step I took.(well, at least it felt like it) We eventually ended up at a quieter terras where we had a delicious Indian dinner while looking at the masses of people passing by. In the evening we went home with the metro which was again overloaded with Indian people and queues were enormous. (Later we learnt that all guest-workers return to Little India every Sunday so that you shouldn't visit this area on Sunday)
It was a great day again with a lot of new experiences.
